‘è–Ú: What do seismic tomography images mean?
u‰‰ŽÒ: Brian L. N. Kennett (Research School of Earth Sciences, The Australian National University)

u‰‰—vŽ|:
Seismic tomography has become an important tool for examining Earth
structure, but considerable care needs to be taken to understand the
limitations of what can be imaged and the way in which it should be
interpreted.
I will discuss the generation and assessment of tomographic results,
including applications of multi-dataset techniques, with application
to the recognition of tears in subduction zones.
