Elucidation of the Active Geosphere. Kyoto University Acvtive Geosphere investigations for the 21st century COE Program
International Kick-off Symposium for Active Geosphere Investigations
was held at Kyoto International Community House on December 16-17, 2003.
Approximately 150 participants, in which 18 invited people from overseas
from various fields, joined the symposium.
We exchanged research ideas centering around 21 invited presentations,
and discussed the existing state of interdisciplinary
active geosphere investigations
and a concrete measure for promoting our COE program.
Academic exchanges between younger researchers were also attempted
by carrying out a poster session mainly presented by COE researchers and
Research assistants.
