Symposium on Scientific Applications of GPS in Active Geosphere Investigations

KAGI (Kyoto University Active Geosphere Investigations for the 21st Century COE Program), RISH (Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere, Kyoto University), and Chulalongkorn University will jointly organize a symposium "Scientific Application of GPS in Active Geosphere Investigations".

The purpose of the symposium is to promote exchange of information related to GPS utilization technology among different fields of earth sciences so as to encourage joint research and further initiate new projects. The symposium will proceed with introduction of GPS applications in solid earth, hydro- atmosphere, upper atmosphere and ionosphere. Each session will open with a keynote lecture by a specialist in the specific field followed by presentations of particular GPS topics, 20-30 minutes. Discussion between the audience and presenters will be an important part of the session. One of the topics of this Symposium as convened in Thailand is to discuss feasibility of GPS application for effective rainmaking.

This Symposium is open to Thai and International Scientists.
