"Geomagnetic Field Observation at Phimai"
Abstract:
We started geomagnetic field observation at Phimai from October 2004.
Geomagnetic field data are recorded continuously and are transmitted to
Chulalongkorn University and Kyoto University in real time. Geomagnetic
field data are important to obtain information of phenomena occurred in
the near-Earth space and the Earth’s interior. Preliminary results showed
that Pi2 pulsations were observed at Phimai as well as Japanese and Chinese
geomagnetic observatories. We suggested that Pi2 pulsations were caused
by the plasmaspheric cavity mode which has a globally uniform structure.
